What it is
Palatal expanders are orthodontic appliances designed to widen the maxillary arch and address transverse discrepancies between the upper and lower jaws. They apply controlled lateral forces to the maxillary dentition and, in appropriate growing patients, can assist in achieving improved arch width and space for proper tooth alignment. Depending on the clinical requirement, expanders can be designed with different activation mechanisms, anchorage configurations and appliance designs to provide controlled and predictable expansion.

- Desired expansion amount and activation protocol, as prescribed
- Clinical photographs and diagnostic records when required
- Any specific requirements for screw position, acrylic coverage or appliance design
